4 Reasons to Book Braintastic! Science for Science Week

We don’t know about you, but one of our favourite times of year is British Science Week, and we're already counting down the days! British Science Week 2025 runs from 7th–16th March, the theme is Change and Adapt – and we couldn't be more excited. Here at Braintastic! Science, we’re wild for all things neuroscience, which means we cannot wait to tell young – and not so young – people all about their constantly changing, super adaptable, amazingly plastic brains! Want to know more? Let's dive into our favourite science week ideas and activities.

Our live science shows will boggle your mind

Cost ££–£££

Our wide range of science shows for schools will engage, educate and entertain your students (not to mention give teachers a well-earned break). Our neuroscience assemblies for KS1–KS5 are based on the latest scientific research and are highly interactive, giving young people a chance to learn about their amazing brains in an engaging, hands-on way. Plus, each live show includes a Q&A with one of our expert presenters, who love to answer all your most burning questions about the brain. Hack Your Brain (KS2–KS3) explores the way our brains grow and change, developing neural pathways as we learn, while That’s NonSense (KS2) takes students on a whistle-stop tour of their senses – and how to trick them. Or you could join a celebration of the incredible neurodiversity of humans with Am I Normal? Take a look at our full range of science shows for schools, and we guarantee you'll find the perfect fit for your science week needs.

If you’re after a more practical activity for smaller, classroom-sized groups, why not try one (or more) of our hands-on science workshops? Suitable for groups of up to 30, our workshops for KS1–KS4 allow students to explore the neural links between science and creativity, create their own optical illusion, prep for their exams in an enjoyable, interactive way, and more!

If your budget doesn’t stretch to live performances this year, or if things ended up being a little last minute, don’t fret – we have plenty of free science resources on our website! Why not challenge your class to build their own neuron, or try out our visual illusions activity pack? We also have STEM lesson plans for KS2–KS4, all about the neuroscience of learning and memory, and a brilliant worksheet helping young people engage with nature and look after their mental wellbeing in the process. Plus, if you sign up for our mailing list, we’ll send you a virtual taster of one of our live shows – all for free!

Braintastic! Presenters Smash Stereotypes

Ginny Smith, a white woman with curly hair, wearing a purple neuron dress, speaking on stage

At Braintastic!, we care about smashing the stereotype that all scientists are dry, older, middle-class, white men with lab coats, and showing young people that scientists come from all walks of life. STEM careers welcome people of any age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability status, neurodivergence status and sexuality. Our presenters are all inspirational women and LGBTQ+ people who have come to their STEM careers through different paths – teaching young people that anybody can be a scientist, and science is for everybody!
